Nana Okofrobuo Boateng, the former chief of Akrafo Kokobeng in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region, was tragically shot dead by an unknown assailant in front of his house.
The incident occurred around 11:00 pm on Wednesday when the deceased returned home after stepping out to buy food. Eyewitnesses reported that Nana Okofrobuo Boateng was shot as he entered his house, with the assailant fleeing the scene immediately after the attack.
Family members of the late chief suspect the killing may have been motivated by personal animosity, although they are unaware of any specific conflict.

“He was a peaceful man, so we can’t think of any reason why someone would target him like this,” a grieving relative shared.
The murder has heightened security concerns in Akrafo Kokobeng, with residents expressing fears about the safety of the area. Many have called on authorities to strengthen policing and intensify efforts to ensure public safety.
Officers from the Bohyen District Command have begun preliminary investigations at the crime scene. The body of Nana Okofrobuo Boateng has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy and further examination.
The police have urged residents to remain calm and assist with any information that could lead to the apprehension of the perpetrator.
