Ghana Jollof Suspect: High Court Denies Bail to Nurse
The High Court in Accra has dismissed the bail application of Salomey Awity Baffoe, a senior nursing officer based in Techiman, who is facing a charge of abetment of crime in connection with content attributed to the “Ghana Jollof” social media account.
The court declined the application, citing the ongoing nature of investigations and concerns that evidence could be deleted if Ms Baffoe is granted bail.
Her lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, disclosed the development following a virtual hearing before the court.
The police have been investigating activities surrounding the “Ghana Jollof” account, including financial transactions involving individuals described by investigators as high-profile persons.
The police have also launched a manhunt for Barbara Asantewaa Koduah, who is believed to be behind the account.
Following the latest ruling, Ms Baffoe will remain in custody while investigations continue.
