President Mahama Visits Bawku and Nalerigu on Peace Mission

President John Dramani Mahama is set to visit Bawku and Nalerigu today, January 14, 2025, as part of efforts to address the long-standing conflict in the region.

The visit aims to foster dialogue among factions and stakeholders to pave the way for lasting peace. Announcing the mission, acting presidential spokesperson Felix Ofosu Kwakye stated, “The president is determined to resolve the decades-old conflict in Bawku and will use the visit to engage the conflict factions and key stakeholders to promote dialogue to achieve lasting peace.”

This peace mission underscores President Mahama’s campaign pledge to prioritise resolving the Bawku conflict, demonstrating his commitment to national unity and reconciliation.
