Mahama will be ordained as a pastor- Sonnie Badu

Renowned gospel musician and founder of the Rockhill Church in the United States, Sonnie Badu, has made a bold prophecy about President John Dramani Mahama’s future, stating that the Ghanaian leader will one day be ordained as a pastor.

In an Instagram post, Badu, known for his spiritual insights, suggested that President Mahama’s recent return to power marks the beginning of a new chapter for him, one that could lead to a divine calling into ministry.

“Now that His Excellency has fulfilled the comeback mission, there is one more hurdle to overcome; call it a prophecy. His Excellency will soon be ordained as a pastor,” Badu wrote, congratulating Mahama in advance. “He might become the first pastor to serve as a president,” he added.

President Mahama was sworn in on January 7, 2025, as the 6th president of Ghana’s 4th Republic, succeeding Nana Akufo-Addo.

The swearing-in ceremony was officiated by Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo at the Black Star Square in Accra, marking a historic return to office after Mahama’s previous term from 2013 to 2017.

Mahama’s victory in the 2024 elections, following two unsuccessful attempts after losing the 2016 elections, made him the first president in Ghana’s 4th Republic to lose an election and return to office.
