Shatta Wale to Slim Buster: Stop Letting Social Media Create Enemies Between Us
Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has appealed to veteran musician Slim Buster to end their ongoing social media tensions, insisting that he has no intention of disrespecting or fighting him.
In a Facebook post, Shatta Wale expressed surprise at Slim Buster’s reaction to developments on social media, suggesting that comments and narratives circulating online may have contributed to the misunderstanding between them.
"Slim Buster, please, you know very well that I would never disrespect you,” he wrote, adding that he was shocked that the veteran musician was allowing issues on the internet to affect him.
Shatta Wale said he believed that whatever information Slim Buster might have received could have influenced his decision to engage in online exchanges with fans.
He, however, stressed that he had no reason to engage in a feud with the veteran musician and urged him not to treat him as the source of the controversy.
“I have no reason to fight you, and I believe we should know better than to allow social media narratives to create unnecessary misunderstandings between us,” Shatta Wale stated.
The dancehall artiste also acknowledged the loyalty of his fan base, noting that his fans might find it difficult to forgive Slim Buster because, according to him, they had not witnessed him disrespecting the veteran musician.
He further urged Slim Buster to take a step back from the online exchanges and understand how social media works, cautioning that not every comment on the internet deserved a response.
“With all due respect, please put an end to this and rather take some time to understand how the internet works and how best to handle it. The internet is not an easy place, and not every comment deserves a reaction,” he said.
Shatta Wale maintained that his message was not intended to generate publicity or attract online trends but was rather a sincere appeal from a younger musician to a senior colleague.
He concluded by reaffirming his respect for Slim Buster and calling for an end to the misunderstanding.
