NEIP Boss Demands Retraction from Daybreak Newspaper over “False and Malicious” Visa Racketeering Allegations
The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei, Esq., has taken strong legal action against the management of the Daybreak newspaper, demanding an immediate retraction and apology over what he describes as false, malicious, and defamatory publications against his person.
In a formal letter dated November 11, 2025, Mr Adjei’s legal representatives cited two publications by Daybreak—the November 4 edition titled “Is Eric Adjei in Charge of NEIP?” and the November 11 follow-up, “Coming Up: Visa Racketeering Scandal Hits NEIP.”
According to the letter, the stories were fabricated and deliberately designed to damage Mr Adjei’s public image, portraying him as corrupt and unfit for public office.

“The publications are false, malicious, and calculated to tarnish our client’s hard-earned reputation,” the letter read, stressing that Mr. Adjei has never engaged in any visa racketeering or related misconduct.
The lawyers further noted that the Daybreak reports have exposed Mr Adjei to public ridicule and contempt, inflicting severe harm on his professional integrity and personal standing.
To remedy the situation, the legal team has given Daybreak 48 hours to comply with the following conditions:
- Publish a full and unequivocal retraction and apology in the newspaper’s next print edition and on all its online platforms;
- Remove the offending stories from its website, social media pages, and digital archives; and
- Provide a written undertaking to desist from further defamatory publications against Mr Adjei.
Failure to comply, the letter warned, will result in immediate legal proceedings seeking injunctions and substantial damages for defamation, including general, aggravated, and exemplary compensation.
The lawyers concluded emphatically that “all of Mr Adjei’s rights remain fully reserved.”
The Daybreak newspaper has not yet issued a public response to the legal notice.
