MTN Rewards 30,000 Customers, Gives Out Nine Toyota Land Cruisers

MTN Ghana has rewarded more than 30,000 customers with cash prizes and nine brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles under its 30th anniversary promotional campaign, as the telecommunications company celebrates three decades of operations in the country.

Sandra Oduro Antwi, Senior Manager for Consumer Marketing at MTN Ghana, said the promotion was designed to appreciate customers for their loyalty and support over the years.

Speaking about the initiative, she said the company wanted to use its 30th anniversary celebration to give back to customers through a reward scheme that allowed them to participate in their everyday activities without undertaking any additional tasks.

“And so we thought that we need to celebrate with our cherished customers. I mean, they've stood with us for the past 30 years. We've enriched their lives for the past 30 years, and so we think it's great to be able to reward them,” she said.

The promotion, which ran from June to August 2026, allowed customers to accumulate points through their regular use of MTN services, including calls, digital services, internet browsing, social media engagement and mobile money transactions.

According to Ms Oduro Antwi, customers with the highest points at the end of each month stood a chance to win cars and cash rewards.

She explained that the company deliberately kept the participation process simple to ensure customers could qualify while going about their normal activities.

“We didn't want anything that had to jump up and down and do anything extraordinary. We are saying that whoever you are, wherever you are in your daily life, whatever you do, whether you choose MTN to communicate, engage in digital services, browse and stay on social media, send mobile money to friends and loved ones or buy things with mobile money, do that. And then, as you're doing that, you accumulate points,” she said.

To ensure transparency and fairness in the selection of winners, MTN partnered with professional services firm KPMG to oversee the process.

Sandra Oduro Antwi said the company was committed to rewarding customers across the country, adding that the anniversary campaign was not the only initiative through which MTN intended to appreciate its subscribers.

She encouraged winners to appreciate their prizes, regardless of the amount received, saying every reward represented an opportunity to celebrate the company's relationship with its customers.

“Whatever you've won, whether it's GH¢10,000, whether it is GH¢5,000, whether it's GH¢30, or whether it's your Land Cruiser, it's your time now. I'm sure some people also didn't get anything. So whatever it is that you've won, enjoy it,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Benedicta Obeng Asare, a nursing trainee who won a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser at the Zone One level, described the experience as a dream come true.

She said she was in a car when she discovered her winning score and was subsequently contacted by MTN to confirm that she had won the vehicle.

“I was actually in a car when I saw the score, and I was very proud because I knew the score number that was before me. It was out of 40,000. I was very glad that they had a conversation with me and told me I won,” she said.

Benedicta Obeng Asare said her family and friends shared in her excitement, describing the moment as a memorable experience.

“I'm super glad. Thank you for making this dream come true,” she said.

She also urged the public not to doubt the authenticity of the promotion, encouraging customers interested in participating in future campaigns to take advantage of such opportunities.

Other winners included Bright Twumasi Ankrah, who received a cash prize of GH¢30,000, and Samuel Obeng and Medintey So-Otey, who each won a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser at the Zone Two and Zone Three levels, respectively.
