Lydia Forson Reveals Her Decade-Long Battle with Fibroids in Emotional Post

Celebrated Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has shared a powerful and personal story of her ten-year struggle with fibroids, shedding light on the severe pain and challenges many women face with the condition.

In an emotional post on X during Fibroids Awareness Month, the ‘Perfect Picture’ star recounted her ordeal and called for greater awareness and support for women suffering from fibroids.

“July is Fibroid Awareness Month. To the women who’ve had to live in constant pain, multiple surgeries, and questions about children, if you’re pregnant because of how you look or the fear that you never will, you’re not alone. I lived in pain for 10 years before I got help,” Forson wrote, striking a chord with many of her followers.

Forson revealed the extent of her suffering, describing how she was once left immobilised on a bathroom floor and frequently needed emergency medical attention. “Today I’m grateful that I don’t have to live in so much pain, grateful that no one else will find me on a bathroom floor too paralysed to move. I’m grateful that I don’t have to be rushed into an emergency, and I’m even more grateful that I’m alive to share my story when others aren’t.”

Her heartfelt message is a rallying cry for women to be proactive about their health and to seek the support they need. “My story is a lot more complicated than I’ve shared, and this is just a summary. But to any woman reading this, I do hope you’re inspired to run tests, ask questions about your body, and also not feel so alone with the things you have to live with.”

Forson’s revelation has struck a chord with many, highlighting the often-overlooked issue of fibroids and the need for increased awareness and support. Her candid account serves as an inspiration for women everywhere to take charge of their health and seek the help they need.
