Ghanaian producer and musician Skonti has shed light on his decision to put his music career on hold to focus on managing fellow artiste Kwaw Kese.
Speaking with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, Skonti revealed that he made the decision on his own, without even informing Kwaw Kese about his plans.
“So I decided, let’s do this. I didn’t even tell him I’m putting my career on hold; I just realized I had to put my career on hold and do it,” he stated.

While Skonti is an artiste in his own right, he emphasized that his true strength lies in music production.
“Every producer can do a little bit of music if they want to put their mind to it,” he noted.
Having managed Kwaw Kese for three years, Skonti admitted that the journey has been challenging but rewarding.
“It’s been tough, but at least it’s teaching me a lot and enhancing my craft and whatever I want to do,” he added.
Despite his managerial role, fans have been calling for new music from Skonti.
“After ‘Dondo,’ I haven’t dropped anything,” he pointed out, acknowledging the demand for his return to the microphone.
As a producer, Skonti has been instrumental in Kwaw Kese’s recent projects, including the hit song ‘Awoyo Sofo’, one of Ghana’s biggest tracks last year.
Meanwhile, Skonti has quietly released a seven-track album titled ‘Woyo Deux’, meaning “win or you’re out.” The album features Kodjo Badman, Kofi Mole, and other Ghanaian artistes.
Though he remains focused on managing Kwaw Kese, Skonti’s fans may not have to wait too long for new solo projects.
