Nathaniel Bassey to Lead Worship at Donald Trump’s Inaugural Prayer Breakfast

Renowned Nigerian gospel artist and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to lead worship at the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

The event is part of the faith-based activities preceding the swearing-in of President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.

Bassey, widely known for his uplifting worship music and the globally celebrated Hallelujah Challenge, shared the news with his followers on Instagram. Posting a promotional flyer for the event, he captioned, “Let’s raise a sound in America. See you on January 20, 2025.”

The prayer breakfast, hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner, will take place at the Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom. Held every four years, it is a nonpartisan gathering aimed at offering spiritual support to incoming administrations.

This year’s program includes notable speakers such as Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Pastor Mario Bramnick, alongside Bassey’s musical ministry.

Nathaniel Bassey is known for gospel hits like “Imela,” “Onise Iyanu,” and “Olowogbogboro.” His ministry has transcended borders, inspiring millions worldwide through music and worship.

In recognition of his impact, October 6, 2024, was declared Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day by the mayor of Albany, New York.
