The Government of Ghana will, on Wednesday, November 12, officially launch a new flagship initiative dubbed the “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” Programme in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who said the event will be led by President John Dramani Mahama as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to deepen community development and youth empowerment across the country.
Although full details of the programme have yet to be disclosed, it is expected to focus on grassroots development, youth employment, and local entrepreneurship, in alignment with the government’s broader social intervention and inclusion agenda.

According to Mr Kwakye Ofosu, the launch marks the beginning of an eventful week for the administration, which will culminate in the presentation of the 2026 National Budget by the Minister for Finance on Thursday, November 13.
The upcoming budget, he noted, will outline major policy initiatives aimed at stimulating economic growth, creating sustainable jobs, and enhancing social welfare, while reinforcing fiscal discipline and improving resource mobilisation across strategic sectors.
“This is a very important week for the government. The launch of the ‘Nkoko Nkitinkiti’ programme and the presentation of the 2026 Budget both reflect our commitment to accountability, development, and meaningful engagement with citizens,” Mr Kwakye Ofosu said.
The “Nkoko Nkitinkiti” programme is anticipated to become a cornerstone of Ghana’s social development drive, targeting vulnerable communities and young people through training, entrepreneurship support, and inclusive community projects aimed at empowering local economies.
