Adenta DVLA Office Now Runs 24 Hour Services- DVLA Boss

The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has announced that the Authority’s Adenta office is now running a 24-hour service system — a first in the institution’s history.

Speaking in an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, August 19, Mr Kotey explained that the initiative forms part of efforts to enhance efficiency and improve access to DVLA services for the public.

“So far, we are doing only the Adenta Office. Because that is the first office I opened after the renovation. You can go to the Adenta office for all our services. You can get a licence, you can do testing and registration, and you can do eye testing at 2 a.m. People patronise those services; per the statistics, people come at night,” he revealed.

According to him, the round-the-clock service is attracting significant patronage, with many people opting to access DVLA services at night to avoid daytime congestion.

Mr Kotey noted that the initiative is currently being piloted at the Adenta branch, and if the results remain positive, the Authority plans to roll it out gradually to other DVLA offices across the country.

The move marks a bold step toward modernising service delivery in Ghana’s transport sector, with the potential to significantly reduce waiting times, increase convenience, and improve customer satisfaction.
