Renowned Nigerian musician Innocent ‘2Face’ Idibia has officially announced his separation from his wife, Annie Macaulay, after 13 years of marriage.
In a candid post on Instagram, 2Face revealed that the couple had been separated for some time and that divorce proceedings were underway.
He promised to share the full story with his fans soon, emphasising the need for transparency about the circumstances leading to their split.

“This thing I have to say is short but also long… Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now and have currently filed for divorce. I will grant a press release soon to share my story—not because it’s anyone’s right to know my personal life, but because I love my people, and I need them to know my innocence or offence. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all,” the post read.
The announcement sparked widespread reactions, with fans expressing shock, disappointment, and curiosity about the sudden revelation.
However, the situation took a surprising twist when another post appeared on 2Face’s account, claiming that his page had been hacked and the divorce announcement was false.
In a dramatic turn of events, 2Face later went live on social media, denying the hacking claim and standing by his initial statement. “I personally made the divorce announcement and meant every word,” he declared during the live session, putting an end to the speculation about the authenticity of his earlier post.
The situation has become even more controversial as just days before the announcement, 2Face was spotted with a mystery woman at a nightclub, further fuelling rumours and sparking debates about his personal life.
Annie Macaulay, who has been by 2Face’s side for 24 years and shares two children with him, has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
