Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has expressed immense joy following his groundbreaking performance in Jamaica alongside the legendary Vybz Kartel.
To Shatta Wale, sharing the stage with the Jamaican icon is a career milestone akin to winning a Grammy award.
Speaking in a recent interview with Joy News, Shatta Wale reflected on the significance of the event, saying, “The experience has been beautiful; this is a dream come true for Shatta Movement fans. Everyone knows my journey as a dancehall musician, and performing with Vybz Kartel is a dream come true.”
He added, “Vybz Kartel’s endorsement is equivalent to winning a Grammy for me. Because Vybz is a global icon, an artist everyone knows and loves, to receive his endorsement and perform together is my greatest achievement.”
Shatta Wale became the first Ghanaian artist to perform at Vybz Kartel’s highly anticipated Freedom Street concert, held at Jamaica’s National Stadium in Kingston on December 31, 2024. The concert marked Vybz Kartel’s return to live performances after 14 years of incarceration, making it a historic moment in the dancehall world.
