Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has received a prestigious honour from New West Africa International, recognising his visionary leadership, integrity, and outstanding contributions to the nation’s communications and digital agenda.
The award was presented to him at his office by a delegation led by the organisation’s Editor-in-Chief, Dr Dee Otibu Asare, who praised the minister’s forthrightness on national issues and his bold approach to leadership.
Dr Asare described Hon. George as “a leader of intelligence, integrity, and strong moral conviction,” noting that his ideological grounding in the principles of Dr Kwame Nkrumah sets him apart as a patriotic and forward-thinking public servant.

Hon. George, a three-term Member of Parliament from the Greater Accra Region and Secretary General of the African Parliamentary Network on Work Governance, has played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s digital future.
As a board member of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), he continues to influence critical policy directions for the country’s digital growth. His previous roles include serving as a communication specialist at the presidency and deputy ranking member on Parliament’s Communications Select Committee, where he also contributed to the Public Accounts Committee.
In accepting the honour, Hon. George expressed gratitude to Dr Asare and his team, pledging to deepen Ghana’s digital transformation agenda through inclusive, transparent, and visionary leadership.
