Mahama Advocates for Pro-Business Policies to Empower Ghanaian Entrepreneurs

President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated the need for robust economic policies that empower entrepreneurs and foster a vibrant business environment in Ghana.

In a reflective Facebook post following his participation in Easter festivities in Kwahu, Mahama praised the entrepreneurial energy and resilience he witnessed among local business leaders.

He expressed admiration for the dedication of Kwahu-based business executives, CEOs, and heads of financial institutions, commending their role in sustaining and driving Ghana’s economic progress.

“I am deeply inspired by the commitment and innovative spirit of our entrepreneurs,” Mahama wrote. “They are the backbone of our economy, and it’s time we create a system that truly supports and rewards their efforts.”

President Mahama emphasised that to build a thriving economy, Ghana must implement sound policies that open doors for entrepreneurs and translate hard work into meaningful outcomes.

He noted that entrepreneurs continue to face structural and policy-based challenges that hinder their full potential.

Mahama, who is also the 2024 presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), reaffirmed his commitment to “reset Ghana” by creating a more inclusive and supportive economic climate.

He stressed the pivotal role entrepreneurship plays in job creation, innovation, and national development.

“We need to build an economy where businesses can thrive, not just survive,” he stated. “It’s time to reset Ghana and lay the foundation for shared prosperity.”

His remarks come at a time when many small and medium-sized enterprises in Ghana are grappling with rising operational costs, limited access to credit, and an unpredictable economic landscape.
