Kwadwo Safo: I’ve Done My Best To Reconcile With Adwoa Safo

The Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Israel Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena, says all attempts to reconcile with his sister, former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, have been unsuccessful amid an ongoing family dispute following the death of their father, the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

Speaking to the media, Akofena said he had exhausted every avenue to mend the relationship, including engaging prominent personalities and religious and traditional leaders.

“I have made every effort to reconcile with my sister. I spoke to some former presidents, chiefs, church elders and traditional leaders, but all those attempts failed. I even drove to her house myself in an effort to seek reconciliation, but nothing came of it,” he said.

His comments come amid growing disagreement over the funeral arrangements for the late founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission.

The church recently stated that it had not been informed of any funeral or burial arrangements for Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, insisting that no date had been agreed upon for his final rites.

However, Sarah Adwoa Safo has dismissed claims that the burial arrangements remain unresolved, maintaining that the funeral will commence on Thursday, July 30, with the remaining funeral rites scheduled for subsequent days.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Akwasi Ofori, said the church stands by its leader, Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena I, who had earlier indicated that disagreements over the funeral arrangements had not been resolved and that no burial date had been confirmed.

The differing positions have highlighted the deepening rift within the family over the burial plans for the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and Kantanka Group.
