The Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC has congratulated Miss Malaika Ghana 2006 winner, Hamamat Montia, for what it describes as a remarkable cultural moment that elevated Ghana’s global image during American YouTuber IShowSpeed’s recent African tour.

In recognition of her role in promoting Ghana’s heritage and flagship natural product, Hamamat Montia has been named Ghana’s Global Shea Butter Ambassador.
The embassy praised her for using culture as a tool of diplomacy and economic promotion, highlighting the global relevance of Ghana’s shea industry, which supports thousands of rural women and remains one of the country’s most recognisable traditional exports.
The recognition also reinforces Ghana’s branding as the “Gateway to Africa”, positioning the country as a centre of cultural authenticity, natural resources, and heritage-driven tourism.
Hamamat Montia, a long-time advocate for natural beauty, traditional living, and African identity, has become internationally known for promoting authentic shea butter production and indigenous wellness practices rooted in northern Ghana.
