President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono as the Acting Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GHPA).
The appointment of the distinguished military officer and legal professional is expected to bring a strategic and disciplined approach to the management of the country’s ports and harbours.
Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono currently serves as the Deputy Commandant of the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) at Burma Camp, Accra.

His extensive academic and professional background positions him as a well-rounded leader suited for this new role.
He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from the George Washington School of Law, a Master in Management Studies from Osmania University in India, and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from the University of Ghana.
He was also called to the Ghanaian Bar in 2015.
His military expertise is backed by training from some of the world’s most renowned institutions, including the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the United States Army Command and Staff College, and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre.
Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono has held critical leadership positions, such as Chief Coordinator at NCDS, Assistant Commandant at the Training and Doctrine Command, and Deputy Director-General of Training at the General Headquarters (GHQ). His experience in these roles has equipped him with the skills to oversee large-scale operations and policy implementation.
Beyond Ghana, Brigadier General Tanye-Kulono has contributed significantly to global peacekeeping efforts. He served as the Deputy Force Provost Marshal and Officer in Charge of Special Investigations at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Headquarters.
His international exposure in security, investigations, and conflict resolution makes him an asset in navigating the complex landscape of port security and operations.
