The Bank Hospital has officially responded to swirling public concerns following the passing of Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who died at the facility on July 26, 2025.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the hospital vehemently denied allegations that it breached medical confidentiality, stressing that all interactions with the late musician were conducted in strict adherence to ethical and professional standards.
“The care provided to Mr. Charles Kwadwo Fosu was delivered with professionalism, dignity, and strict confidentiality,” the statement read.

Addressing public speculation on social media, the hospital emphasised that Daddy Lumba’s family was actively involved at every stage of his treatment, and no decisions were made without their knowledge or consent.
While the hospital did not detail the exact cause of death, it confirmed that the music icon received full medical attention during his time at the facility.
With online platforms awash with accusations of privacy violations and mismanagement, the Bank Hospital announced it had initiated an internal review to assess the circumstances surrounding Daddy Lumba’s admission and care.
“This review will ensure our processes remain consistent with our values of excellence and patient-centred care,” the hospital noted.
Management further cautioned the public against spreading unverified information, urging Ghanaians to rely on credible sources for updates on the matter.
“This is a moment of national mourning. Let us respect the memory of the departed by upholding dignity, truth, and compassion,” the statement urged.
The Bank Hospital expressed its deepest condolences to the family, fans, and the entire nation, describing Daddy Lumba as a national treasure whose legacy transcends generations.
“We mourn with the nation and celebrate a life that touched millions through music, culture, and resilience.”
