Fifteen members of the Obogu Saviour Church youth group have tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident on the Juaso-Nkawkaw stretch of the Accra–Kumasi highway. Four others sustained critical injuries.
The fatal crash occurred around 3 p.m. on Monday when a fuel tanker heading towards Accra reportedly suffered a tire burst, causing the driver to lose control and veer into the opposite lane. The tanker collided head-on with a Ford Transit bus that was transporting the church youth group.
Eyewitnesses described the impact as severe, leaving the bus mangled beyond recognition. The victims were said to be returning from a church youth event.

Church elder Kofi Baah, confirming the incident to Adom News, said, “We rushed to the Yawkwei Steward Hospital after hearing the news, only to find out our beloved members had passed away.”
Emergency responders from the Juaso MTTD, the Ambulance Service, and fire personnel from Konongo and Juaso swiftly arrived at the scene to assist in rescue efforts and manage the aftermath.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital morgue, as investigations begin into the cause of the crash.
