Yussif Issaka Jajah Appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts

The Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso North Constituency, Yussif Issaka Jajah, has been appointed as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.

He will work alongside Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie to advance initiatives aimed at promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and creative industry.

Jajah replaces music executive Mark Okraku-Mantey, who held the position during the second term of the Akufo-Addo administration.

His appointment is expected to bring a wealth of research and consultancy experience into the tourism and creative arts sector, shaping policies that will enhance Ghana’s global cultural appeal.

Before entering politics, Jajah served as a research fellow at the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation in Accra from 2013 to 2016.

His consultancy experience in the oil and gas sector between 2011 and 2012, in collaboration with MDPI and Goodwill International, further underscores his strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.

Born on October 21, 1979, in Bole in the Savannah Region, Jajah holds an MBA in International Oil and Gas Management from the University of Dundee, Scotland, UK, obtained in 2011.

He also earned a BSc in Accounting from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), in 2009 and is a graduate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ghana.

With his extensive background in research, finance, and policy development, Jajah is expected to contribute significantly to the strategic advancement of Ghana’s tourism sector.

His expertise will be crucial in developing policies that bolster Ghana’s position as a key cultural and creative hub in Africa.
