Lilian Owusu, widow of the late former Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr John Ampontuah Kumah, has remarried, marking a new chapter in her life more than a year after the passing of her husband.
Mrs Owusu is now married to Ghanaian politician, diplomat, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Samuel Aryeequaye. Mr Aryeequaye has recently attracted international attention after achieving a historic milestone in the United States, where he appeared on a giant digital billboard at Times Square in New York an honour that brought him significant recognition.
The marriage comes on the back of Mr Aryeequaye’s growing international profile, following his appointment as the World Director General for One World Nexus United Nations.

He currently also serves as the Executive Secretary of Diplomatic Envoy Globalisation, a role that places him at the centre of global diplomatic and development-focused engagements.
Lilian Owusu was previously married to Dr John Ampontuah Kumah, who passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the age of 45.
His death sent shockwaves across Ghana’s political landscape, prompting an outpouring of tributes from political leaders, colleagues, and constituents.
Dr Kumah was widely celebrated for his dedication to public service, his contributions to economic development, and his strong bond with the people of Ejisu, whom he represented as Member of Parliament.
He was regarded as a rising figure in Ghanaian politics and a passionate advocate for development-orientated policies.
The late Dr Kumah and Lilian Owusu shared nearly two decades of marriage. Together, they had six biological children and also fostered other children, reflecting their deep commitment to family and community life.
Lilian Owusu, who is the founder and senior pastor of Disciples of Christ Ministries Worldwide, first met Dr Kumah in 2005.
The couple married a year later, building a life that blended public service, ministry, and family until his untimely passing.
