VIDEO: “NPP Will Return to Power in 2092” – Anthony Brenya
A National Communication Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anthony Brenya, has claimed that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) may not return to power until the year 2092, citing what he described as the current government’s strong performance and positive prophecies from some men of God.
According to Mr Brenya, the performance of the NDC government since assuming office has given him strong confidence that the party could remain in power for decades.
Speaking on the Hot FM Morning Show hosted by Oman Nana, Mr Brenya said prophecies from some renowned men of God have suggested that the NPP will only return to power in 2092. He said he believes the prophecy could materialise if the current government continues to deliver on its mandate.

He argued that despite the short period the government has been in office, it has already taken significant steps to restore Ghana’s economic image on the international market while introducing policies aimed at reviving the economy across several sectors.
According to him, the government inherited numerous economic challenges from the previous administration but is working steadily to address issues such as economic hardship and unemployment.
Mr. Brenya acknowledged that some party footsoldiers have expressed dissatisfaction with the government for allegedly failing to meet certain expectations. However, he insisted that the government is prioritising national development over partisan interests.
“For some time now, some of the party footsoldiers have risen against the government for not taking care of their needs as promised, but the government is focused on national concerns that will shape the country,” he said.
He further explained that ministers in the current administration are dealing with demanding national responsibilities and cannot concentrate solely on party supporters.
“When you look at the work of the Interior Minister, Honourable Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, and some other ministers, their work is so demanding that they cannot just focus on party members when there are national crises that need to be tackled,” he stated.
Mr Brenya also commended the Interior Minister for what he described as effective leadership in the ongoing security services recruitment exercise, rejecting claims that the process is politically influenced.
According to him, the recruitment exercise is strictly based on merit and qualification rather than political affiliation.
“It is not about whether someone is NDC or NPP. If a person qualifies, he or she will be recruited,” he emphasised.
He concluded by expressing confidence that the achievements of the president and his administration could keep the NDC in power for many years before the opposition party gets another opportunity to govern the country.
