Three Burnt to Death in Motorbike Collision at Manso Watreso

Three people have died after a fiery crash involving two motorbikes at Manso Watreso in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday, when two speeding motorbikes — one carrying two riders and the other with a single rider — collided head-on. The impact caused both bikes to burst into flames.

Eyewitnesses say frantic attempts by bystanders to put out the fire and rescue the victims failed. It took the arrival of Ghana National Fire Service personnel and the police to finally douse the flames.

According to Kofi Mensah, Assembly Member for the Manso Watreso Electoral Area, one victim died instantly, while the other two were rushed to hospital but later succumbed to their injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the motorbikes was carrying fuel, which is believed to have triggered the explosion upon impact.

The police have yet to release the identities of the deceased as investigations continue. The charred remains have been deposited at the St Martin’s Hospital mortuary in Agroyesum.

Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution and adhere to road safety regulations to prevent similar tragedies.
