Taptap Send, a leading global remittance platform, has announced a landmark partnership with the Manhyia Palace, home of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to enable fee-free remittances in support of key cultural and development initiatives spearheaded by the Palace.
The collaboration was unveiled during a courtesy visit by Taptap Send’s Growth Director, Darryl Mawutor Abraham, to the Manhyia Palace on January 24, 2025. Joined by Otumfuo Mamesenehene Nana Barima Osei Kwadwo II, the delegation engaged the Asantehene in discussions on leveraging financial technology to advance the Asante Kingdom’s development agenda.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Manhyia Palace, an institution that embodies both cultural heritage and a forward-thinking approach to development,” Mr. Abraham said. “This initiative reflects Taptap Send’s mission to remove barriers for diaspora communities who want to contribute meaningfully to the development of their homeland.”
As part of the partnership, Taptap Send will waive transfer fees for remittances directed toward the Palace’s cultural and development projects, amplifying the impact of diaspora contributions. These funds will directly support education, infrastructure, and cultural preservation efforts.
A new feature called Charities has also been launched on the Taptap Send platform, allowing users to donate to curated projects. One of the flagship initiatives listed is Heal Komfo, a major healthcare project by the Manhyia Palace. This feature ensures that diaspora users can conveniently contribute to vetted causes, with the assurance that every cedi goes toward transformative development in the Asante Kingdom.
The Asantehene lauded the partnership, highlighting its role in fostering a deeper connection between the Kingdom and its diaspora. “This partnership is a bridge connecting our people abroad to the development of their homeland. It demonstrates how technology can preserve our cultural identity while propelling us into the future,” he said.
Taptap Send’s move aligns with its broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and financial inclusion. By enabling low-cost and instant remittances, the platform has positioned itself as a leader in facilitating development across underserved markets.
On the same day as the partnership announcement, Taptap Send demonstrated its commitment to impactful change by donating 150,000 Ghana cedis to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The donation is aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery in the region, reinforcing the company’s dedication to community-driven development.
This collaboration not only solidifies Taptap Send’s reputation as a socially conscious fintech leader but also reflects a growing trend of technology companies aligning with cultural institutions to drive meaningful change. As global remittance flows are expected to surpass $800 billion in 2025, initiatives like these underscore the transformative potential of financial technology in bridging borders and fostering sustainable development.
Taptap Send continues to expand its footprint across multiple regions, prioritizing affordability and user experience while making significant strides in community investment. This partnership with the Manhyia Palace is a testament to its vision of technology-powered development with cultural and social impact at its core.
