The Ranking Member of the Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has denied claims that he was invited by security agencies over allegations of suspicious flights entering Ghana’s airspace.
Government spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu had earlier suggested that Fordjour had been summoned to assist in investigations regarding the controversial flights.
However, Fordjour has dismissed the claim as false and baseless, challenging Kwakye Ofosu to produce evidence.

In a statement on Thursday, April 3, 2025, Fordjour accused the government of evading accountability and blocking his request for a joint security briefing, which he believes would have provided transparency on the issue.
“Why did they refuse my request for a security briefing? What are they hiding?” he asked.
He also criticised Kwakye Ofosu’s attempt to explain the purpose of the flights, calling the response “incoherent and unconvincing”.
Fordjour further demanded updates on the 12 containers of gold and foreign currency seized by National Security on February 9, as well as the $500 million cocaine bust that has raised concerns about potential drug trafficking through Ghana.
“Our country must not become a hub for drug trafficking and money laundering. We demand full accountability,” he declared.
Fordjour insists he will continue to push for transparency on the matter, despite what he describes as attempts to silence and mislead the public.
