Residents of Kpele-Xorse, a farming community in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, have been left in shock and fear after the mysterious disappearance of a farmer, with disturbing evidence suggesting foul play.
The missing farmer, identified as Mr Adovor Kodzo Delali, believed to be in his late 50s and a father of four, reportedly left home for his farm early Monday morning but failed to return, sparking worry from his family.
According to the Assembly Member for the Lpele Electoral Area, Mr Divin Tutu, relatives and neighbours mounted a search after his absence became unusual. The search party stumbled upon a chilling scene on his farmland—bloodstains scattered across the farm and what appeared to be one of his fingers.

The discovery has unsettled residents, raising suspicions of foul play or a possible ritual attack.
Local authorities were immediately informed. Officers from the Hlesi Police collected the suspected finger and other evidence under the supervision of the Anyonawase Police Command. However, family members are said to still have custody of the alleged finger as investigations continue.
The police are yet to determine whether the incident is linked to a violent attack, ritual activity, or other causes.
The disturbing discovery has heightened tension in Kpele-Xorse, where residents say farmers often work alone and are exposed to potential dangers. Community leaders and assembly members are urging residents to remain calm as investigations progress.
“We are appealing to the people to stay calm and allow the police to do their work. Anyone with information that could help trace Mr Delali should come forward,” Assembly Member Divin Tutu said.
Family members of the missing farmer have also pleaded with the public to assist with information that could lead to his recovery.
The incident has reignited calls for improved security in rural farming communities across the Volta Region. Farmers in such areas are often vulnerable due to the isolated nature of their work, with limited police presence to ensure safety.
As the search for Mr Delali continues, residents are left anxious and fearful, hoping the truth behind his mysterious disappearance will soon be uncovered.
