AUDIO: Don’t Name Your Child After Me, I'm Enjoying My Money- Nana Aba Anamoah
Ghanaian broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah has cautioned people against naming their children after her with the expectation that she will take financial responsibility for them.
The host of Starr FM’s Morning Show said people should not assume that naming a child after her would automatically make her responsible for the child’s upkeep or expenses.
Speaking during a discussion about motherhood and raising children, Nana Aba stressed that her ability to provide for her own child should not be interpreted as a commitment to cater for children named after her.
“Now, don't name your child, because you think that I have the means to take care of it,” she said.
Her comments appeared to address the expectations some people may attach to naming children after prominent personalities, particularly when they believe those individuals have the financial means to support them.
Nana Aba also touched on the financial demands of raising a child, explaining that she had always wanted one child and was comfortable with that decision.
She said her priority had been to give her only child the best of everything, adding that she had now finished paying school fees and was focusing on enjoying the fruits of her labour.
“At the moment, I'm done paying school fees, so the focus is on me. I'm enjoying my money,” she stated.
