In a shocking incident in the Damongo municipality of the Savannah Region, the maize farm of Savannah Regional Minister Saeed Muhazu Jibril was deliberately set ablaze by unidentified individuals.
The act of arson has left the minister, his farm manager, and workers devastated as they watched their hard-earned harvest reduced to ashes.
Despite the creation of fire belts around the farm to prevent such disasters, the fire engulfed the entire field, destroying hubs of maize that were meant to support the region’s food supply. Workers on the farm were seen in tears, unable to save the crops from the flames.
