Ghanaian rap heavyweight Sarkodie has declared Edem Goget’em’s debut album, The Volta Regime, as one of the greatest bodies of work in the country’s music history.
In a heartfelt Facebook post on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Sarkodie praised Edem’s artistry while sharing a snippet of their collaborative track You Dey Kraze, featured on the acclaimed album.
“Undoubtedly one of the greatest albums in Ghana’s music history!!!” Sarkodie wrote. “I remember when I first encountered my brother Edem. I came back home to tell one of my homies that this guy will have a serious impact on the music scene. He was like naa because of the language barrier. I said, I don’t hear language; I hear greatness!!!”

The post also reaffirmed Sarkodie’s deep respect for Edem, calling him one of his favourite MCs.
The two artists share a long-standing bond and have teamed up on multiple musical projects. However, their friendship was tested in recent years when Edem publicly aired his frustrations over Sarkodie’s perceived lack of support. Despite the fallout, Edem clarified that the rift was short-lived and that they had moved past the misunderstandings, even recalling moments of reconciliation at industry events.
Sarkodie’s tribute comes ahead of the Kumasi edition of his Rapperholic Concert, slated for September 27, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where fans are anticipating explosive performances and potential surprise collaborations.
