The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced the indefinite postponement of the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.
Parliament was originally scheduled to reconvene on Tuesday, October 14, but a formal notice issued from the Speaker’s office on Monday, October 6, revealed that the meeting will no longer commence as planned.
“I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic is deferred until further notice due to circumstances beyond my control,” the notice stated.

The letter, dated October 6, follows an earlier Notice to Summon Parliament issued on September 29.
While the Speaker did not provide specific details regarding the cause of the postponement, he assured that further communication will be issued once the underlying circumstances are resolved.
