President Mahama Declares Ghana “Open for Business Again”
President John Dramani Mahama has extended an open invitation to the business community, reaffirming Ghana’s readiness to attract investments and create a thriving business environment.
In his inaugural address at the Black Star Square on January 7, President Mahama outlined his administration’s commitment to revitalising the economy through strategic reforms and investor-friendly policies.
He reassured both local and international stakeholders that Ghana is poised to maintain its status as a key player in the global economy.
“To the business leaders and entrepreneurs, I invite you to support this new model and join me in shaping a business environment where utility thrives and the fruits of your investments contribute to the collective welfare of our nation,” Mahama declared, drawing applause from the audience.
He praised the innovation and resilience of the private sector, emphasising its critical role in Ghana’s economic recovery.
President Mahama pledged to address longstanding concerns within the business community by introducing reforms aimed at fostering stability and predictability.
“I pledge to you that we will look at the tax regime and rationalise it so that it is more transparent and fair,” he said, highlighting his government’s determination to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and ensure a level playing field for investors.
Acknowledging the challenges businesses have faced in recent years, Mahama’s speech marked a turning point, positioning Ghana as a destination of choice for investors seeking opportunities in Africa.
“Members of the business community, I assure you that Ghana is open for business again,” he proclaimed, signalling a fresh start for the nation’s economy.
