The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, together with senior officials of the Ghana Police Service, warmly received the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and briefed him on ongoing initiatives aimed at improving public safety and strengthening crime prevention efforts across the country.
In his address, the IGP expressed deep appreciation for the Asantehene’s longstanding support for the Ghana Police Service, describing his relationship with the police as both nurturing and impactful.
“Your support for the Ghana Police Service has been both fatherly and exemplary. I recall that you have hosted several IGPs and police leadership, offering counselling, guidance, and encouragement, with your doors always open to us,” Mr Yohuno stated.

He noted that such consistent engagement from the Asantehene has helped boost morale within the service and reinforced the importance of partnership between traditional leadership and modern security institutions.
The historic visit, observers say, underscores ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration between traditional authorities and state security agencies, fostering a more unified and effective approach to law enforcement, peacebuilding, and national security in Ghana.
