A police operation aimed at dismantling an alleged drug trafficking network at Dominase in the Gomoa East District has turned deadly, leaving one civilian dead and three police officers injured.
The Ghana Police Service launched the operation on Tuesday as part of efforts to curb the growing menace of illicit drug peddling in the region.
However, the officers were met with fierce resistance from suspects believed to be part of the trafficking ring, resulting in a violent confrontation.

A civilian, believed to be connected to the drug peddlers, was fatally wounded during the clash. His identity has not yet been made public.
Meanwhile, the injured officers are said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.
Although the Police Service has not yet issued an official statement, residents in Dominase report a heightened security presence in the area as investigations continue.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates in the coming days, including the outcome of the raid and any arrests made.
