Okaikwei North Records 75% Project Achievement Under Government – MCE
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North, Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger, says the municipality has achieved 75 per cent of its projected development targets since the government took office.
According to him, the achievement reflects the Assembly’s efforts to address some of the major challenges confronting residents, particularly in the areas of sanitation, roads, healthcare and infrastructure.
In an interview with Hot FM Morning Drive, the development progress of the municipality, Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger said the Assembly set ambitious targets for 2025, focusing on improving sanitation, tackling road construction and potholes, expanding healthcare delivery and addressing critical infrastructure needs.
He said the Assembly successfully implemented a number of the planned projects, contributing to improved conditions in several communities within the municipality.
The MCE also highlighted the importance of community participation in the municipality’s development planning.
He said in 2025, the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly organised its first community engagement series, which provided residents, traditional leaders and other stakeholders with an opportunity to identify challenges and propose development priorities.
According to him, the exercise enabled the Assembly to gather first-hand information from communities and incorporate their concerns into its development plans.
He disclosed that the Assembly would organise another community engagement exercise this year to deepen collaboration with residents and traditional authorities.
Hon. Badger said the approach was necessary because development planning should reflect the actual needs and priorities of people living within the municipality.
The MCE further disclosed that Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly had emerged as the best-performing assembly among the 29 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Greater Accra Region.
He attributed the achievement to the commitment of the Assembly, its staff and stakeholders toward implementing development projects and improving service delivery.
He said the recognition had further motivated the Assembly to work harder to meet the expectations of residents and sustain its position among the leading assemblies in the region.
Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger assured residents that the Assembly would continue to prioritise projects that directly affect their daily lives, particularly sanitation, roads, healthcare and infrastructure.
He also called for continued cooperation from residents, chiefs and other stakeholders to enable the Assembly to deliver more development projects and improve living conditions across Okaikwei North.
