Obra Show: Family Mocks Potency of Man to Father Four Children; DNA Results Exclude Him as Father of Two

A shocking twist has rocked the Ocran household after DNA test results revealed that Robert Ocran, a man married for 28 years, is not the biological father of two of the four children he raised with his wife.

The emotional revelation came on live radio during the Obra Show on Nhyira FM, following weeks of tension-filled interviews, accusations, and public appeals for clarity. Robert, who had long harboured doubts about the paternity of his children, initiated the DNA test after what he described as persistent ridicule and insinuations from his wife’s family that he was impotent.

“I needed the DNA test because I strongly felt my wife had been unfaithful for a long time,” Robert stated. “She goes to braid her hair and returns home at midnight.”

Adding to his suspicions, he revealed he had received threatening calls from unknown numbers warning him ominously to “wait and see what will happen.”

The DNA results were unequivocal: Robert is not the biological father of his firstborn—now about 30 years old—and the second-to-last child. In a surprising twist, the test confirmed that a 14-year-old child he fathered outside the marriage is biologically his, undermining his wife’s long-standing claim that he was incapable of fathering children.

Despite the scientific evidence, Robert’s wife rejected the results, saying, “I don’t believe these results.” She insisted that early in their marriage, Robert was diagnosed with low sperm count, and they had sought spiritual assistance to conceive.

The couple’s history, marred by infidelity and mistrust, was laid bare on air. Robert admitted to cheating several times, justifying his actions as a reaction to his suspicions. His wife, in turn, accused him of bringing other women into their home but said she stayed quiet out of respect for the marriage.

Reactions to the revelations were sharply divided. Gifty Donkor, known as Big Mama, defended Robert’s decision to seek the truth. “Considering the serious nature of the allegations, it’s difficult to completely dismiss Robert’s suspicions,” she said.

Evangelist Degraft Addae, however, condemned Robert’s conduct. “You disrespected your wife—you slept around, fathered a child outside the marriage, and now you’re humiliating her over family rumours,” he noted.

Show host Ohemaa Benewaa asked Robert ahead of the results what he hoped to gain. He replied, “My conscience will be cleared, and I’ll focus on the children’s future. I didn’t do this to disgrace her—it’s what her family said that pushed me to this point.”

Now that the truth is out, the Ocran family is left grappling with the emotional and legal fallout. The case has sparked national debate on trust, marriage, and the weight of public scrutiny.
