NSS Scandal: I Have Directed Culprits to Be Declared Wanted, Assets Frozen – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that some suspects linked to the National Service Authority (NSA) financial scandal have fled, triggering an urgent search by security agencies.

Addressing Parliament during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his second term on Thursday, February 27, President Mahama assured the nation that he had ordered law enforcement agencies to declare the fugitives wanted and ensure their swift arrest.

“This kind of brazen theft of state resources cannot and will not go unpunished,” he declared, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fighting corruption.

He stressed that those responsible must be held accountable to uphold public trust and financial integrity.

Mahama emphasised that ongoing efforts were being intensified to track down the runaway suspects and bring them to justice.

He also called on relevant institutions to collaborate in recovering stolen funds and instituting stronger measures to prevent such financial misconduct in the future.

The president reassured Ghanaians of his government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption, pledging that stringent laws would be enforced to safeguard national resources.

As the crackdown continues, public attention remains focused on security agencies to ensure justice is served, reinforcing the government’s broader anti-corruption agenda.
