The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has categorically denied releasing any portion of the Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye Committee Report, which was recently submitted to the party’s National Council for review.
The party maintains that only a single official copy of the report exists, and it remains under careful scrutiny by party leadership.
Speaking at a press briefing, the General Secretary of the NPP, Mr Justin Kodua Frimpong, dismissed circulating quotes on social media purportedly extracted from the committee’s report as “false and politically motivated”.

“These quotes are fake and are being circulated by political opponents, particularly members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in an attempt to distract and divide us,” Mr Frimpong said.
He urged party members to disregard these unverified excerpts and focus on the broader task of rebuilding and unifying the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The Prof. Oquaye-led committee, made up of 11 members, was tasked with investigating the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general elections and recommending strategic reforms. The committee submitted its final report to the National Council last Wednesday.
Since then, several social media platforms have been flooded with alleged quotes from the report, many of which paint a controversial picture of internal party dynamics and blame specific individuals for the electoral loss.
However, Mr Frimpong reiterated that the party has not officially released any part of the report. He added that the leadership will only disclose relevant portions if and when it becomes necessary to inform or guide members.
In a related development, the NPP has issued a stern warning to party executives, communicators, and prominent members against making premature endorsements or derogatory remarks about potential flagbearer aspirants.
The National Council, in a statement, said it took a serious view of recent divisive comments that have emerged from within the party, cautioning that violators will be sanctioned according to the party’s constitution and code of conduct.
“No public endorsements or attacks on aspirants will be tolerated until official nominations for presidential primaries are opened,” the statement emphasised.
As part of its broader reform agenda, the NPP has also announced the formation of a nine-member Constitutional Amendment Committee tasked with reviewing and proposing updates to the party’s constitution.
The committee is chaired by Frank Davies, who also heads the party’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee. Other members include:
- Hon. Patricia Appiagyei – Deputy Minority Leader and MP for Asokwa
- Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah – MP for Ofoase Ayirebi
- Dr Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko – Deputy General Secretary of the NPP
- Makafui Woanyah – Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP
- Ebenezer Nartey – Former MP (serving as Secretary of the Committee)
The committee has been mandated to:
- Identify provisions in the party’s constitution that need amendments in line with the Prof. Oquaye Committee recommendations.
- Consider outstanding proposals from the 2021 Constitutional Review Committee led by Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin.
- Receive and categorise amendment proposals from party members and affiliated groups.
- Make recommendations for structured debate at the upcoming National Annual Delegates Conference.
To wrap up its reform efforts, the NPP announced that an Extraordinary National Annual Delegates Conference will be held in July this year to consider and vote on the proposed constitutional amendments.
Party leadership believes these internal reforms are critical to rebuilding party confidence, enhancing internal democracy, and laying a solid foundation for electoral success in 2028.
