Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, lawyer for the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has disclosed that his client has been moved to an undisclosed location by heavily armed officers of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Tuesday, February 10, Baffour Awuah said Ofosu Nkansah was taken away in a convoy of three pickup vehicles after officers initially searched his residence and later returned with him to the NIB office.
According to the lawyer, his legal team has since been unable to obtain information on the location where Ofosu Nkansah has been taken.

“After the search, they returned to the NIB Office. They told us they are taking him to another place. Now, in the convoy of three pick-ups, they have left the NIB office. Questions as to where they are taking him to – nobody has answered us.
“He is in the company of heavily armed NIB officers. Right now, as the lawyer of Kofi Ofosu, I don’t know where my client is,” he said.
Earlier in the day, the NIB searched Mr Nkansah’s residence as part of investigations into allegations of the sale of government-funded overseas scholarships. According to his legal team, the search followed comments made by Mr Nkansah during a radio discussion in which he alleged that some individuals were paying to secure scholarships abroad.
In a separate interview with Citi News, Nana Awuah claimed that officers who conducted the search were unable to produce a warrant when questioned.
Mr Nkansah had earlier been invited by the NIB to assist with the investigations after President John Dramani Mahama directed the intelligence agency to probe the allegations.
