“We are sorry for the violence that occurred. It was an unfortunate situation that we deeply regret,” Iddrisu stated.

He acknowledged that while the minority’s actions stemmed from frustration with the vetting process, they do not condone the altercation that led to disruptions.

The chaos was reportedly triggered by heightened tensions between the minority and majority members, with accusations of procedural unfairness and a lack of consensus-building.

Despite the incident, Iddrisu reaffirmed the minority’s commitment to its oversight duties, ensuring that the vetting process remains fair and transparent.

He reassured the public that the caucus would continue to uphold parliamentary rules and the democratic process in good faith.

Iddrisu further reiterated the minority’s determination to hold the government accountable for its ministerial appointments while calling on the majority to take steps to prevent future conflicts.

He suggested fostering constructive dialogue between all parties to uphold the dignity of Parliament and avoid a recurrence of such incidents during future sessions.
