McDan Aviation has resumed its Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) as of January 20, 2025, after resolving a financial dispute with the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL).
The company’s operations had been temporarily suspended due to an outstanding debt of over US$3.9 million, which has been accumulating since 2020. This includes US$3,995,622.66 and GH¢13,523.37.
McDan Aviation recently made a payment of GH¢2 million towards the debt. Although GACL initially insisted on full settlement before reopening the terminal, both parties reached an agreement on payment terms, enabling the resumption of services.
In a statement dated January 21, 2025, McDan Aviation expressed gratitude to GACL for their cooperation and support in resolving the matter, paving the way for the reopening of its services at Terminal 1.
Checks by Graphic Online confirmed that McDan Aviation’s security personnel have returned to work, and official company vehicles were seen stationed at Terminal 1, indicating the restart of operations.
The reopening of its FBO services allows McDan Aviation to once again offer premium private jet services. These include:
- Access to luxury lounges
- Personalised concierge services
- State-of-the-art facilities
- Enhanced safety protocols for secure and seamless travel experiences
“We are excited to welcome our clients back and continue offering the top-tier service they expect from us,” the company stated.
The resumption of McDan Aviation’s operations is expected to provide a significant boost to Ghana’s private aviation sector, offering unparalleled luxury and convenience to clients. The resolution of the financial impasse also underscores the importance of collaboration between corporate entities and regulators in fostering business continuity.
With services back on track, McDan Aviation reaffirms its commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to its esteemed clientele.
