“Man’s Heartbreak After DNA Test Reveals He Raised Three Children Who Aren’t His”

A young man has shared the devastating emotional toll he endured after a DNA test confirmed his worst suspicion—that three children he had raised and cared for were not his biological kids.

Speaking under the condition of anonymity on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the man revealed how he was pressured into marrying his ex-wife after she claimed he was responsible for her pregnancy.

The situation began during his time in school when a girl informed his father that she was pregnant with his child.

Although he initially denied being the father, his denial did not go unnoticed, and her parents dragged him to court. Eventually, his father accepted the claim and insisted that he take responsibility, leading to a rushed marriage.

At the time, the man was a promising athlete, popular in his school, but his life quickly took a different turn.

“I was in school and very popular because I was an athlete, so most of the ladies were fond of me. One came to inform my father that she was pregnant with me, but I denied it because I was so sure I wasn’t responsible. However, her parents dragged us to court, and eventually, my father accepted it,” he explained.

This forced marriage cut short his education, with his father telling him that he could no longer support him and the mother of his twins. “I worked tirelessly just to make ends meet and take care of my children and their mother. I got involved in galamsey, which I vowed never to do, and almost lost my life in the process,” the man shared.

He also revealed that the third child was from an ex-girlfriend he reconnected with after the mother of the twins abandoned them when they were only three months old. With no one else to care for the twins, he reached out to his ex-girlfriend, who agreed to help take care of them while he went out to work.

“My life was brought to a halt because there was nobody to cater to them so I could work. I decided to bring in my ex-girlfriend so she could take care of them while I went out to work,” he recalled.

Despite this, the mother of the twins eventually returned to apologise, but her parents made it clear they would sue him if he married anyone other than their daughter.

In 2020, he married the mother of the twins, doing everything a devoted husband would for his family.

However, over time, her behaviour changed, and she became increasingly disrespectful toward him.

As the years passed, the man began to harbour suspicions about the children’s paternity. Watching stories on television about similar situations and hearing rumours fuelled his desire to know the truth. “I decided to conduct a DNA test. I came up with a ruse to obtain a sample from the children without raising suspicion,” he said.

However, his wife became upset after he mentioned the possibility of a DNA test, and she fled with the kids for over a month. After much persistence, he finally managed to get the test done.

The results were devastating—only his first child was biologically his. “I was heartbroken, so I took all the children. I had two others aside from the twins, and the results revealed that only the first child was mine,” he shared. The revelation shattered him emotionally. “Finding out that they are not mine after all these years, I don’t know the kind of pain any human being can go through more than that. My heart was heavy, and all I could do was weep.”

Although devastated by the years he spent raising children who were not his, the man has found solace in his new family.

He remarried and has a baby who will be four months old on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Despite the overwhelming pain and betrayal he experienced, he is grateful that he didn’t let the heartbreak consume him. “I’m just grateful to God I didn’t harm myself in any way,” he concluded.
