Mahama’s First 100 Days Has Been Impressive- Prof. Stephen Adei

Renowned economist and former Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Professor Stephen Adei, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for his remarkable performance in his first 100 days in office, describing it as one of the strongest starts by any Ghanaian leader in recent history.

Speaking on JoyNews’ The Pulse on Thursday, March 6, Prof. Adei noted that Mahama’s early days have been marked by strong leadership, strategic policies, and decisive governance.

“His Excellency, the President, has done very well in the first 100 days. Government after government, I have observed their early days, and I would give him a very high score for what he has done so far,” he stated.

Despite this praise, Prof. Adei was quick to caution that the real test of leadership lies ahead, urging Mahama to focus on economic stabilisation, revenue generation, and the fight against illegal mining (galamsey).

“This is the honeymoon stage, and I will give him a good score. But the real challenge lies in stabilising the economy, addressing our limited gains from mineral resources, and ensuring sustainable development,” he emphasised.

He urged the Mahama administration to maintain momentum and take bold decisions to prevent Ghana from experiencing another economic downturn.

“So far, he has done very well, and we wish him the best because Ghana cannot continue resetting the agenda,” he added.

With growing public expectation, all eyes remain on Mahama’s next moves as his government navigates the challenges ahead.
