Kwamina Asomaning Elected as President of Ghana Association of Banks
The Ghana Association of Banks (GAB) has elected Kwamina Asomaning, Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, as its new President.
Asomaning takes over from John Kofi Adomakoh, whose tenure ended following his departure from GCB Bank Plc.
In a statement, GAB expressed gratitude to Adomakoh for his dedicated service and leadership in the banking industry.

The Association highlighted Asomaning’s vast experience in both international and local finance, emphasising his ability to drive industry collaboration and economic growth.
“Mr. Asomaning’s proven leadership, coupled with his strategic approach to innovation, makes him well-positioned to lead the Association in strengthening industry collaboration, enhancing financial stability, and promoting sustainable economic growth in Ghana’s banking sector,” the statement read.
Under Asomaning’s leadership, Stanbic Bank Ghana has been recognised for innovation, customer focus, and sustainable banking practices.
GAB also announced the continuation of other key executives:
- Hakim Ouzzani, Managing Director of SG Ghana, will remain as Vice President.
- Henry Onwuzurigbo, Managing Director of Zenith Bank Ghana, continues as Treasurer.
The Association expressed confidence in Asomaning’s leadership and looks forward to further strengthening Ghana’s banking industry under his tenure.
