Actress and media personality Nana Ama McBrown has opened up about the physical, emotional, and financial toll of her prolonged recovery following a serious car accident more than a decade ago.
Speaking on TV3’s New Day show on Tuesday, December 17, 2025, McBrown revealed that she has spent nearly GH₵500,000 on medical treatment in recent months alone.
“If I should tell you the money I’ve spent on this hand, it’s almost GH₵500,000 from May till now. And remember, it’s not just the money; it’s the pain, the stress, and the emotional trauma. You need to go through it yourself because you can’t rely on people,” she said candidly.

The veteran actress, who was involved in a car crash in January 2013, explained that her recovery has demanded intensive physiotherapy, including early morning sessions at the 37 Military Hospital and continued therapy at home.
She shared that she performed daily exercises on her arm using stimulation machines she was trained to operate as part of her rehabilitation.
Despite the gruelling journey, McBrown expressed gratitude for her progress, noting that she has undergone a total of five surgeries.
“This was my fifth and final surgery,” she said, adding that she no longer experiences the pain and is thankful to God for her recovery.
McBrown also emphasised that while support from family and friends is valuable, the healing process is ultimately a deeply personal journey requiring patience, resilience, and self-discipline.
Her revelations shed light on the often-unseen struggles behind public success, highlighting the determination and courage required to overcome life-altering injuries.
