I Was Not Maltreated During OSP Detention- Adom-Otchere
Former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Paul Adom-Otchere, has said he was treated humanely during his recent detention by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Mr Adom-Otchere was held in connection with an alleged irregular revenue assurance contract awarded by GACL.
He was released on Friday, August 1, after the OSP revised his bail conditions. His initial detention followed difficulties meeting the original terms, which reportedly required landed property in Ghana as surety.

Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV with Bernard Avle on Monday, August 4, the broadcaster stressed that there was no abuse or ill-treatment during his stay.
“Nobody maltreated anyone. That is for sure. It’s a normal place; they detain every Ghanaian,” he said.
He explained that the holding facility provided basic necessities, including a mattress, blanket, and clothing for longer stays.
“You will be in a room with other people… They give you a mattress — for now it’s a double mattress because of the floor — and they give you a blanket; they treat you well,” he noted, adding that access to the outside world was restricted.
The OSP’s investigation into the GACL contract reportedly awarded without due process is still ongoing.
