“I Have Never Received Any Payment From NSS” – A-Plus Clears Air on Scandal Allegations
Gomoa Central Member of Parliament, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, has categorically denied claims that he received money to interfere with investigations into the National Service Secretariat (NSS) scandal.
“I have never received any payment from the NSS, nor do I have any business—directly or indirectly—with the Secretariat,” A-Plus stated in an official release on Friday, May 3. “I have never contacted anyone to suppress or influence the matter in any way.”
The MP’s statement comes in the wake of allegations made at a press conference by Attorney General Dr Dominic Ayine, who referenced a fake social media post allegedly tied to A-Plus and challenged him to clarify his involvement in the NSS issue.

Dismissing the claims as false and misleading, A-Plus explained that the only time he came into contact with the scandal was in November 2024, when an individual approached him claiming to have been falsely implicated.
According to the MP, the individual sought his help as a media figure to tell his side of the story, not to suppress any investigation.
“As a media personality and majority shareholder in a Ghanaian media company (as declared in my asset declaration), he sought my assistance to help clear his name through media engagements,” A-Plus said.
He further stressed that offering a media platform for someone to explain their position does not amount to interference or corruption.
“If this support is being misinterpreted as an attempt to suppress the case, I respectfully disagree. I firmly believe that every accused person deserves to be heard,” he added.
The Gomoa Central MP also disassociated himself from the impersonated social media account that first triggered the controversy and reiterated his commitment to transparency, accountability, and fairness in all his dealings.
This clarification follows days of tension between A-Plus and Dr Ayine, which has since drawn public attention and prompted calls for a more civil and factual approach to political discourse.
