I Am Enjoying The Moment – Semenyo Delights After Goal In Man City’s EFL Cup Win At Newcastle

Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed his delight after continuing his impressive start at the club, scoring again in Tuesday night’s 2–0 victory over Newcastle United.

City travelled to St James’ Park for the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, where a closely fought first half ended goalless.

Semenyo broke the deadlock eight minutes after the restart, before Ryan Cherki sealed the win with a stoppage-time strike to give Pep Guardiola’s side a commanding advantage heading into the second leg.

Speaking after the match, the 26-year-old said he is enjoying life at the Etihad Stadium and growing in confidence with every appearance.

“I’ve just come into that, and they’ve helped me with my confidence. It’s been a lot, definitely been a lot, but I’m enjoying it so far, and I’m picking things up very quickly,” Semenyo said.

“I’m enjoying it. I’m playing with a smile on my face and enjoying every moment,” he added.

Semenyo, who joined City from AFC Bournemouth, opened his goalscoring account for the club against Exeter City in the third round of the FA Cup and has now added to his tally in the Carabao Cup.

The Ghana international will be hoping to maintain his fine form when Manchester City face rivals Manchester United in Saturday’s derby.
