High Court Adjourns Trial Of Former NAFCO CEO, Wife To November 19

The High Court in Accra, hearing the criminal case involving former NAFCO CEO Hanan Abdul Wahab and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, has adjourned proceedings to November 19, pending further directions from the Court of Appeal.

The adjournment follows a notification by the state that the appellate court had ordered a stay of proceedings pending an appeal against a ruling by the trial judge, Justice Francis Achibonga.

On Monday, October 19, a three-member panel of the Court of Appeal, presided over by Justice Noble Nkrumah, granted the stay pending the determination of the appeal after hearing arguments from lawyers for the first accused, led by Godfred Dame.

The appeal stems from the High Court’s earlier dismissal of an application by the accused persons seeking to have the charge sheet struck out for failing to disclose sufficient particulars of the offences charged.

At the High Court on Tuesday, Justice Achibonga adjourned the case to November 19 to await further directions in line with the appellate court’s order.
